Clinical Laboratory Scientist Training Program
The
Clinical Laboratory Scientist Training Program at San Jose State University is a
12 month training program
that prepares students to take the ASCP national exam for Clinical Laboratory Scientists. The training program is a 40 hour per week
commitment with an emphasis on hands-on learning in the hospital setting. Most weeks,
students will spend 32 hours training at a clinical site and 8 hours in lecture.
Application deadline is November 15 for following Fall enrollment (we will continue to accept supporting documents including letters of recommendation and transcripts through the end of December).

Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist (CGMBS)
The Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist Training Program at San Jose State University is a 12 month training program
that prepares students to take the national ASCP exam for the Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist
Scientist license. The training program is a 40 hour per week commitment with an emphasis on hands-on learning
in one of our participating biotechnology laboratories. Most weeks, students will spend 32 hours in hands-on training and
8 hours in lecture.
Application deadline is January 15 for Fall enrollment. Prerequisites and application instructions are
included with the application download.
